Pepper and Papadum Rice

Today I will explain about the most favored 2 dishes liked by kids. Papadum which is also called as appadum or papad or pappadum a favorite is thin, crisp food found mostly in India. The Papadum rice is one of the best recipe for young mothers becoz it tastes well for 6 month old babies. If your kids have any cold they can taste the pepper rice becoz according to Sidda medicine pepper has vital content’s to cure cold .

Pepper Rice – Preparation Method

Black pepper is most preferred for this recipe than the white pepper because black pepper gives a better smell also it adds a color to the recipe.


  1. Rice – 1 cup
  2. Pepper – 1 spoon
  3. Cumin seeds – ½ spoon
  4. Curry leaves – as required
  5. Garlic – 4 pieces
  6. Mustard seed, black gram – 1 teaspoon
  7. Ghee – as required
  8. Salt – as required







  • Roast pepper, cumin seeds, curry leaves, garlic with out addind oil in a pan, then grind this like a powder.
  • Now add ghee then put mustard seeds, black gram and roast, after that add the powder we have already make, add rice and salt and mix it well.
  • Then remove from stove it is ready to serve. Pepper rice is good for cold.

Papadum Rice – Preparation Method

Papadum prepared from black gram should be used for this recipe. Toast Papadum with olive or groundnut oil which would make it taste better .


  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Scraped Coconut – ½ cup
  • Papadum – 3
  • Mustard seed, black gram – 1 teaspoon
  • Bengal gram – 1 teaspoon
  • Cashew – 10
  • Sun dried chilli – 4
  • Coconut oil – somewhat
  • Curry leaves – somewhat
  • Oil & salt – as required
  • Boil Rice, Roast the papadum.
  • Add coconut oil in pan then add mustard seed, black gram, cashew, sun dried chilli, Bengal gram, curry leaves and roast.
  • Now add roasted coconut, papadum and salt then roast again and mix well.
  • Now add this mixture with rice and mix well and serve.
