Cucumber – Onion Salad

This is wonderful, low calorie vegetable indeed has more nutrients to offer than just water and electrolytes. It contains no fats and cholesterol. It is a very good source of potassium, an important intracellular electrolyte. Potassium is heart friendly electrolyte helps to bring a reduction in total blood pressure.


  1. Cucumber large          – ½
  2. Onion                          – 2
  3. Tomato                        – 2
  4. Ledis ilay(in tamil)      – ½
  5. Lemon juice                – 2 spoons
  6. Salt, Pepper powder   – Needed amount
  7. Vinegar                       – 1 spoon
  8. Chili powder                – ¼ spoon

Preparation procedure:

  •  Peel the skin and chop the cucumber into small pieces. Also chop the onion, tomato and ledis ilay (in tamil) into pieces.
  •  Take the chopped vegetables in a bowl or vessel and add little lemon juice, salt, pepper powder and vinegar to it and stir well.
  •  Now cucumber – onion salad is ready to serve.
