World Wrestling Entertainment Incorporated is an American show about professional wrestling, which is publicly traded and privately controlled. It was created in 1952 by Jess McMahon, Toots Mondt. The show airs an act that is predictable, with fighting styles being readily planned out, all for the sake of pure entertainment and promotion. Over the years, WWE has produced great wrestlers that are made known by the wrestling fans, and people all around the world. Many WWE wrestlers have also shifted careers, starting off as wrestlers, and then went on to become Hollywood movie stars. Let us see who WWE’s greatest wrestler of all time is.
10. RANDY MARIO POFFO
Popularly known for his stage name as “Macho Man” Randy Savage, debut in professional wrestling on 1973 and in his entire wrestling career received many awards. Back in his time, WWE was best known as World Wrestling Federation. WWE considers him as the greatest champion of all time because of his amazing skills and performances in the ring. He won the World Wrestling Federation Championships twice, and he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championships four times. These are only just a few of his achievements. Randy Savage died on May 20, 2011, due to Cardiac Arrhythmia, he was 58 years old.
9. RICHARD MORGAN FLIEHR
Known as Rick Flair by wrestling fans, he is a semi-retired pro wrestler. Known as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he made his debut in professional wrestling on 1972, and after forty years in the business, he retired. Rick Flair is a twenty one time World Heavyweight Champion, all wrestling franchises combined. He is the only wrestler who won a WWF Championship in a Royal Rumble Match. He was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame on 2012.
8. PAUL MICHAEL LEVESQUE
Also known as Triple H, he made his career debut on 1992 and aside from being a wrestler, he is an actor and also a business executive for WWE. He made his acting debut in the movie “Pacific Blue” as Triple H himself. He is also one of the vampires in the popular vampire action movie “Blade: Trinity”. He has won 23 WWE championships, and thirteen time World Champion.
7. BROCK LESNAR
Brock Edward Lesnar made his debut in WWE on 2000. Before he went pro, he played professional football, and he was also an amateur wrestler and a mixed martial artist. He made his acting debut in the television show “The Ultimate Fighter 13” and he can also be seen in the WWE and UFC videogames. He is a three time WWE Champion, the youngest wrestler to ever achieving that reign; he was 25 years old. He is a recipient of the King of the Ring for 2002 and the 2003 Royal Rumble.
6. MICHAEL SHAWN HICKENBOTTOM
His ring name is “Shawn Michaels”, and he is a former pro wrestler. Before his official retirement in 2010, he received various awards during his wrestling career. He is a four time World Champion, he won three WWE Championships, and was a former World Heavyweight Champion. He is the winner of the 1995 and 1996 Royal Rumble, and is WWE’s first ever Grand Slam Champion.
5. DWAYNE DOUGLAS JOHNSON
Before he crossed over to the film industry, he was more known for his ring name as “The Rock”. He made his debut in professional wrestling on 1996. The Rock is the first third generation wrestler who joined the WWE. He is considered as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, winning a total of seventeen WWE championships, ten of which are world titles. The Rock is the sixth WWE Triple Crown Champion and in year 2000, he won the Royal Rumble. He had his acting debut in 1999, starring in a documentary titled “Beyond the Mat”. He rose to fame in Hollywood when he played as the scorpion king in the movie “The Mummy”, and his very first lead role, “The Scorpion King”. The Rock founded “The Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation”.
4. BRET HART
Bret Sergeant Hart, known for his ring name as Bret “The Hitman” Hart, debut in pro wrestling on 1978 and retired on 2010. He is seven time World Champion title holder, and the first ever wrestler to win both WWF AND WCW Triple Crown. He is the winner of the 1994 Royal Rumble and is the only wrestler in WWE history to ever win the King of the ring title twice. He was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame on 2006.
3. STEVEN JAMES ANDERSON
Popularly known through his ring name “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, he is a former pro wrestler, and now an actor and a producer. Austin won six WWF championships, and he is the fifth Triple Crown Champion. He is winner of the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, and won three Royal Rumbles, from years 1997-1998 and in 2001. He made a force retirement due to his neck and knee injuries, and by 2009, he was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.
2. TERRY GENE BOLLEA
I bet you probably didn’t know his real name, unless of course, if you are such an avid fan. Terry Gene Bollea is non-other than the legendary “Hulk Hogan”. Hulk Hogan is twelve time world champion. He is second to Bruno Sammartino as the longest combined reigning WWF champion. He won two consecutive Royal Rumbles, in 1990, and in 1991. He made his acting debut on 1991, in the movie “Rocky III” as the character Thunderlips. Until now, Hulk Hogan still remains as the main name when the word wrestling is mentioned.
1. MARK WILLIAM CALLAWAY
Saving the last one, the best among the rest is non-other than, “The Undertaker” himself. He is considered as the most tenured wrestler of WWE, and is the oldest and remaining competitor since the very first WWE Raw episode. In 1990, he signed with the WWE and remained with them ever since. He has an undefeated record, including his eight time World Champion title, World Tag Team Title winner six times, he is the winner of the 2007 Royal Rumble.
