TOP TEN CASTS OF CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Following the success of the first movie installation of the epic comic superhero “Captain America: The First Avenger”, is the second part which will be released on April 2014. After his mission with fellow Avengers, Captain America struggles to live in the modern world but then was called to be on duty again when one of the members of S.H.I.E.L.D is attacked. He then embarks on a new mission this time with the company of the Black Widow, also known as Natasha Romanoff. They will then be helped with fellow comic superheroes The Falcon, and the very mysterious The Winter Soldier. There are a lot of things to look forward to in this movie, especially if you are a Captain America fan. Some of the matters to look forward to are the new and improved casts. Below are the top cast members of the newest Captain America installation.

10. DOMINIC COOPER

He was also in the first installation of the Captain America series, “Captain America: The First Avenger”, as the father of the narcissistic Tony Stark, Howard Stark. In the first installation, he was one who spearheaded the superhuman invention, and was also the creator of Captain America’s shield. Dominic Edward Cooper is an English actor who was born and raised in Greenwich, London. Aside from acting, he has also worked in television, in theatre, in radio, and has also worked as a producer. He has been nominated for a Best Actor Award in Saturn Awards for his performance in “The Devil’s Double”. He starred in “The History Boys” alongside his friend James Corden, from which he was nominated with various awards.

9. SEBASTIAN STAN

If you have seen the last Captain America movie, then you would probably remember seeing Sebastian Stan as Captain America’s bestfriend, Bucky Barnes, who fell into a cliff near a railroad while they were doing a mission. This incident led everyone to believe especially his close friend Captain America that he was dead. He then reprises his role as The Winter Soldier in the second installation, losing his past memories as Bucky Barnes. After regaining his memories, he then helps Captain America, The Black Widow, and the Falcon. Sebastian Stan appeared alongside Sigourney Weaver in the miniseries “Political Animals” which earned him a Critics Choice Television Award for Best Performance by a Supporting Actor.

 8. ANTHONY MACKIE

The first additional cast in the installation is Anthony Mackie as the Falcon. This will be the first time the African-American superhero will be featured in a movie. In “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, the Falcon will be aiding Captain America and the Black Widow in their mission to catch the S.H.I.E.L.D attacker. Anthony Mackie has appeared in various films such as “The Hurt Locker” from which he was nominated with various awards, one of which is Best Supporting Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards. He has also starred in “The Adjustment Bureau”, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, “Gangster Squad”, and “Pain and Gain”.

 7. HAYLEY ATWELL

Hayley Atwell plays the character Peggy Carter, the very first love interest of Captain America in the first installation. She will then reprise her role in the second installation, with a minimal appearance. In the first part, before Captain America crashed his aircraft, the two of them decided to go on a formal date. That date never came into reality since Captain America was then preserved by S.H.I.E.L.D waking up nearly 70 years later. Hayley Atwell has starred in various roles for stage productions such as in “A View from the Bridge”, and has also starred in movies such as “Cassandra’s Dream”, The Pillars of the Earth”, and “The Duchess”.

 6. SAMUEL L. JACKSON

Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as the famous S.H.I.E.L.D commander, Nick Fury. He has appeared in all Marvel superhero movies, from Ironman, Thor, The Hulk, and Captain America. He has also showed his leadership skill when all four superheroes gathered and became as one, being named as The Avengers. Samuel L. Jackson is a veteran in the movie industry. He has appeared in high budgeted and high caliber films such as “Godfellas”, “Pulp Fiction”, and “Snakes on a Plane”. He has starred in a total of 100 movies, and has been considered as one of the highest-grossing actors in the box office, surpassing Frank Welker as the actor with the highest-grossing film total in the history of the box office. Aside from this, he has also earned various awards, such as a Golden Globe Award, Academy Award, SAG Award, and many more.

5. EMILY VANCAMP

She is popularly known in the hit television series “Revenger”, Emily VanCamp is also another addition in the second installation of the Captain America cast, as she will play the character Agent 13, also known as Sharon Carter. Sharon Carter springs from the bloodline of Peggy Carter, the former love interest of Captain America. Sharon Carter will then pretend to be Kate, neighbor of Captain America, and will eventually become his newest love interest. Emily VanCamp has been nominated for various awards in Teens Choice Awards, and has won awards for her performance in “Norman”.

 4. CHRIS EVANS

The leader of the band falls in the top four. Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain America after starring in the first installation, and in the first Avengers movie, appearing in Thor 2. Two years after The Avengers saved the world, Captain America has struggled to live a normal life in Washington D.C. but then immediately went back on duty when a S.H.I.E.L.D agent was attacked. Chris Evans is no stranger to playing a superhero role. Before he was chosen to play the role of Captain America, he has already starred as Johnny Storm also known as The Human Torch in the superhero movie, “Fantastic Four”. With his superhuman built, there is no wonder why Chris Evans is meant to do the job. He is signed to play the role as Captain America for at least another two sequels, and will appear in the second installation, “The Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

 3. ROBERT REDFORD

Robert Redford is one of the most established man in the film industry. He is not only a talented actor, but he is also an award-winning director, and producer, being the founder of the Sundance Film Festival. He is also a businessman, as well as an environmentalist, and a philanthropist. In the second installation of the Captain America, he will be playing the part Alexander Pierce, an old friend of Nick Fury, who is a current leader of S.H.I.E.L.D and a member of the World Security Council. Robert Redford was chosen to play this role to serve as giving homage to his role in the 1970 movie “Three Days of the Condor”.

 2. COBIE SMULDERS

You may know her as Robin Scherbatsky in the award-winning television sitcom “How I Me Your Mother”. She was then first seen as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill in the first installation of the Avengers movie. Cobie Smulders will then reprise her role as Maria Hill for the upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, and the second part of the Avengers movie, “The Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Joss Whedon, writer and director of the movie “The Avengers” has showed interest in casting Smulders as the heroine/superhero Wonderwoman. It was however, cancelled.

1. SCARLETT JOHANSSON

ScarJo first appeared as S.H.I.E.L.D agent Natasha Romanoff in the second installation of Ironman, and then later on reprised her role in “The Avengers”. She will now star alongside Captain America, as they go on search for the attacker of S.H.I.E.L.D. ScarJo is considered as one of the many young talented actresses in the film industry. She has starred in various popular, and award winning films such as “Matchpoint”,”Lost in Translation”, and “Girl With a Pearl Earring”. She has been dubbed as Woody Allens muse as she has starred in various Woody Allen films. As young as she is, currently 28 years old, ScarJo has received various major nominations and received major awards from that of BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Young Artist Awards, and others.
